A number of times it has placed him in some crazy places which scared the life out of me, but when refreshed it usually finds him back where he should be! One problem we have however is the pod will turn itself off from time to time, so we keep having to check it's still on before he goes out.
January 11, 2017Reviewed on WebsiteWe decided to get a Pod Tracker after Honey took off from the beach, traveled nearly 20 kilometers & attacked a pet chicken on the way. The Pod has been a marvel, no it doesn't stop Honey from climbing, digging or breaking fences to escape but now we get her back almost immediately. The best investment we ever made.

January 06, 2017Reviewed on AmazonLOVE THE PRODUCT - I absolutely love this product. I did a lot of research on GPS trackers and decided on this one. I am so happy that i did. There are no monthly fee's & th... Read moree product has been solid since I have received it. My dog has been wearing it for 4 months straight (I take his collar off for bed but he wears it daily while playing with other dogs, running through the dirt, snow etc). The gps works from a far distance. I am located in the city and suburbs. I have not yet tried it at the cottage - but i am excited to. Because my dog is a city dog, i just have it set to gps (not safe zone) and the battery lasts 4-5 days. The pod comes with 2 batteries and a charger so its easy to change the battery and takes about 1 second. A few reviews mention the strap it comes with, which was tough to use. It also comes with zip ties - PERFECT. If you want to change the collar, cut the zip ties and zip tie it to the next. I don't see what the fuss is about. I have had a fast response rate with customer support when i had a user question- good experience. My dog is a mexican street dog rescue with (what i think is) a low flight risk, however i just don't know what his reaction would be to fireworks, a large truck driving by, etc so I use the tracker as a precaution. I work in rescue and I have had too many sleepless nights worrying and looking for lost dogs. A lost dog can cost hundreds to thousands: $200-600 + in flyers, hiring a company to find the dog, renting cameras for locating and the time spend manning a trap. Its just too stressful. The pod was well worth the investment. Analogy: winter tires $400-600. Average deductible for car in accident $500-$1000. Well worth investing in winter tires and avoiding the deductible but most of all The Effects!

December 09, 2016Reviewed on AmazonBest on the market to-date, improving with every roll-out! - I think the Pod Tracker is the best device currently on the market. I tested several other ones, but this one is... Read more the best one to date. It is small enough for a 15 pound dog. The battery lasts at least 2 - 3 days. I have had the POD since it came out and it has improved drastically with each roll-out. The signal strength is very good now. It takes about 30 seconds for the signal to be picked up. I get a signal all the time in the city, about 70% of the time in the woods. I wish I could get instant tracking on the trail (as in Map My Walk or the Garmin tracker), but I am sure that feature will be offered in the future. -- The customer service is amazing. Instant, very helpful, very friendly. I could not ask for better service. KUDOS. The app gets redesigned frequently. I like that the team is trying out what works and what not. I like the previous app versions better as they displayed my dogs activity levels more clearly, but that is what start-ups are about. Testing what works and what not. I like that I can see how active my dog was each day. How many minutes he walked and how many he ran, when and how the day compares to other days. The one feature I am looking for on future devices will be tracing a dog's body temperature. A vibration button would also be great, but I can see how that would make the device bigger and heavier. The one thing that needs to be improved is how the pod is attached to the collar. Once you tighten the strings (which is a pain in the you-know-what), you cannot switch collars.
December 06, 2016Reviewed on AmazonPeace of mind - I'm so glad I bought this for my cat! I moved with my little guy a few months ago, and before the move, he spent the bulk of his time outdoors. With the move... Read more, I was worried about letting him go outside on his own for the first time, because I was concerned that he could get turned around, or that I'd be trying to find him late in the day and not know his hideouts. The Pod tracker allows me to know where he is when he's out and about, so that if I need to find him I can. It usually does a pretty good job of narrowing down which yard he's in, at which point I can find him chasing squirrels up trees or checking out a flower bed. And, I really like the Safe Zone feature - if he travels outside a designated area that I feel safe with him staying in, I get a notification on my phone that he has traveled outside of the area and it shows me on the map where he is.It's given me such peace of mind with my move. I'm looking forward to the new updates when it switches over to 3G in the near future.
